There are also many foundations, non-profit organizations and trade associations which have interesting websites with research documents and regular programs and seminars.  Following is a short list of key websites I use:

SCMWA: Santa Cruz Mountain Winegrower Association:

Association of Grape Growers and Winemakers plus associated consultants and service companies operating in the Santa Cruz Mountain appellation. Lists wineries and promotes tours and events. You can subscribe to a free e-newsletter geared mostly to vineyard managers.


American Vineyard Foundation

Smallish non-profit organization in Napa which funds and publishes research beneficial to the US wine and grape industries.


National Grape & Wine Initiative

NGWI is a nationwide coalition of grape and grape products sectors representing grape growers, processors, wineries, and representatives of academic institutions and cooperative extension organizations committed to improving our industry. Mission: Drive research to maximize productivity, sustainability and competitiveness of the U.S. grape industries. You can subscribe to Vine Vision, a bi-monthly newsletter distributed by email
